Storm chasing is a highly dangerous, high-energy, no holds barred race to something everyone else is attempting to get away from. However, storm chasing is my job and my passion, and it is not something I take lightly. No matter how dangerous or life endangering, I never back down. The main point of my career is to take photos and sometimes video of the storms that hit us in tornado alley. Of course, I have seen my fair share of intense storms as I have been doing this for around a decade. However, there was one storm that hit earlier this year that was the worst storms I have ever seen.
Needless to say, this specific tornado did not seem like it was going to quit. The winds were whipping and howling, and I could see the tornado live and in person. I reached a spot that was close enough yet far enough away to both get good photos and remain safe. Normally I would use my Nikon, but I did not have time to grab it. Therefore, I whipped out my iPhone XS and attempted to snap a few photos. Unfortunately, the wind was so strong it ripped my phone from my hand and blew it down the road. Luckily, my phone was scratch free when I caught up to it and I was still able to get some killer photos. Success!
