When working undercover, your number one goal as a secret agent, is to keep your identity a secret. In some cases, it isn’t that easy though.
Recently I was working undercover in a country with a very corrupt government. I was posing as a refugee support worker with an NGO. In reality though, I was there to closely monitor certain government officials who we believed were financing international terrorist groups.
While my cover wasn’t blown, I was under surveillance from the minute I arrived. It quickly became apparent that if I was to remain undercover, I would need to avoid direct S10communication with my team.
I had my phone and an ATOMIC SLIM2 Galaxy S10 5G military grade case. All internet and cellular data in the country was carefully monitored though. Sending intelligence I had gathered electronically would be difficult.
Even more difficult would be meeting any other agents in person to exchange information. I was being followed and harassed by government thugs on a daily basis. My Galaxy S10 5G aluminum case actually came in really handy in those situations.
More than once, I was roughed up and had my phone taken by these thugs. They would force me to unlock the phone so they could go through everything. The Galaxy S10 5G bumper case is ultrasonic fingerprint and facial recognition unlock compatible. Once they realized there was nothing on the phone, they would throw it in the dirt at my feet before walking off.
The Galaxy S10 5G metal case is thankfully pretty shockproof though with a hybrid dual layer construction. The combination of the soft thermoplastic inner skin and tough aluminum alloy bumper frame prevented any damage.
Even after a few weeks of being harassed daily and having my phone thrown around and stepped on, it was fine. It is military grade standard drop tested and withstands drops from 2 meters. There is even a scratch resistant clear back window.
The screen was fine too with the shock absorbing rubber corners and the lifted bezel for extra screen protection.
I still needed to get information to my team though. In the end, we designed a system of drop locations where I could leave information I had collected. The problem was we needed to switch up the location and drop times often.
To prevent detection, we designed a coded message system using my Galaxy S10 5G slim case and the case’s 4 colors to choose from - black, red, gold, and pink.
Everyday, I would visit the local internet cafe to charge my phone. Power at the refugee camp was unreliable so it wasn’t suspicious. The Galaxy S10 5G rugged case supports wireless PowerShare and wireless charging so I would just sit and have a coffee while my phone charged.
If the power was out at the internet cafe, I would just pretend to sit and listen to music. Thankfully, with the ultra slim case on the phone, all buttons and ports are easily accessible.
The key was that I would change my phone case every day. The different colors would represent different drop locations. Depending on how long I stayed at the cafe, I could communicate when I would drop the intelligence reports too.
The system actually worked surprisingly well and I was never caught. The government thugs probably figured I was a secret agent but in the end, they could never prove it.
