Being a secret agent sounds glamorous, but actually, I spent most of my time waiting. I spend hours – sometimes even days – holed up in a mid-priced hotel, watching boring footage of a suspect and waiting for something to happen. This is the story of one of those times.
I was sitting at the desk in Room 202. I had been staring at the livestream of the suspect’s every move for almost four hours. Luckily, this task wasn’t nearly as unpleasant as it used to be. I had recently acquired the Iron Armor case from Ghostek, so my Aristo 2 was comfortably propped up on the case’s built-in kickstand. I had none of the usual neck strain that comes from a stake-out, and I could sit back and watch the stream while taking notes and sorting through my evidence files.
So far, the suspect hadn’t done much besides order Chinese takeout. He seemed pretty innocuous. But when I saw a second shadowy figure appear onscreen next to the suspect, I knew something was up. I recognized that shadowy figure as the notorious local crime boss, and this video of the two of them in the hotel lobby was proof that my suspect was working with the dark side.
It was time for the confrontation. I attached my phone to my waistband using the case’s built-in holster and belt-clip, then hurried downstairs to the hotel lobby. I walked over to the table where the suspect and the crime boss were sitting and talking. The suspect glanced at me nervously, while the crime boss wore a suspicious glare.
I began my usual confrontation speech. “This is it,” I said. “I’ve caught you red-handed. I’ve been watching your little scheme for weeks now, and I have it all recorded right here on my phone.” I gestured at my Aristo 2 to make my point – rookie mistake. The crime boss snatched my phone right off of my waistband and dangled it in front of me. I swooped towards the phone, knocking the device right out of his hand.
The crime boss cackled. “Guess you don’t have your evidence now,” he smirked.
I smiled back at him. “Don’t count on it.” I strode away from the pair of criminals and picked up my phone, which was, of course, in perfect condition. The rugged, heavy duty Iron Armor case can handle anything, even an angry crime boss. Now, all I had left to do was call for back-up.
