While secret agents often work alone, we also sometimes take on missions as a team. This is a great way to work as you always have someone watching your back. You also have access to twice the amount of equipment and training.
This story is of a recent undercover mission I worked on with a colleague. She is an incredible agent and one who I always enjoy working with.
Before the mission, we both packed our gear, including an iPhone XS for me and an iPhone X for her. We were going to be working undercover inside the international terminal of a major airport. Our mission was to follow and stop a target trying to sneak out of the country.
Since my cover was playing a businessman, I went with a standard transparent case for my phone. My partner was posing undercover as a young college student though. To fit the profile, she selected the AGATE clear glitter sparkle case.
This case worked great with the disguise. It has embedded fashion glitter sparkle crystals that come in 3 colors to choose from - pink, red, and purple. The agent went with purple to match her outfit.
While it might be a fun, clear glitter sparkle case, the AGATE also offers enhanced shock absorbing protection. This is super important when you’re working undercover. You never know what kind of rough situation you might end up in.
It was also important that any phone cases we used were convenient. We wouldn't have time to take off a bad case if the mission didn’t go as planned. Luckily, the AGATE case also supports wireless charging and all the buttons and ports are easily accessible.
Now that our gear was ready, we could set up in the airport. We were both keeping an eye out for the target but I managed to spot him first. Unfortunately, he had hired some large bodyguards to help get him out of the country.
Due to the nature of the case, it was important that we apprehended the target without causing a scene. We needed to get the bodyguards out of the way so we could grab him and pull him back to the service section of the airport. If we moved fast enough, hopefully no one would even notice.
After texting my partner, we decided that she would play the role of distraction while I grabbed the target.
Jumping up with her phone to her ear, the agent proceeded to very convincingly have a loud argument with her “boyfriend” on the other end of the line. Her angry, loud voice, along with the glittery case, helped draw everyone's eyes - including the bodyguards.
That was my cue. I quickly grabbed the target and dragged him through a set of doors into the “employee only” area. I had his mouth covered so he couldn’t scream.
In a few minutes, my partner joined me. She had pretended to rush off crying and ducked into the service area. With the AGATE case, her phone was still Face ID unlock compatible and she was able to quickly call for backup.
It was a super smooth mission and I couldn’t have done it without my great partner.
