If you have never been hit by a car, let me just tell you - it hurts! You combine a few tons of metal with even moderate speed and the impact is likely to leave more than bruises. In my many years as a secret agent, I have managed to get into some serious fist fights and shootouts. Until this last mission though, I had managed to avoid being struck by a car. This time though, my luck ran out.
I was tracking a target and somehow ended up in a live-action version of the Frogger video game. I was spotted by the target who decided to try and lose me by running right into the middle of rush hour traffic.
I had been using my iPhone XR to get some photos of the target when spotted. I quickly clipped my phone into the holster with swivel belt clip that came included with my IRON ARMOR2 phone case. Without thinking much, I ran right after him into the fast moving cars.
I was doing a good job dodging the cars and keeping up with the target when out of nowhere this car just ran smack into me. I hit the ground hard.
My first thought was for my iPhone XR phone. I needed those photos and all I could think was “I really hope I didn’t just break it to pieces.” Thankfully the phone was in a premium, ultra tough case that I knew had been military grade standard drop tested. It was rated with strong shockproof and drop protection. I don’t think they had ever tested the case by hitting it with a car though.
Not having time to check the phone, I just jumped back up and kept chasing the target. Dodging a few more cars, I managed to get out of the road. I saw the target dash into a building and knew he was trapped. He wasn’t going to lose me this time. The building stood alone in a courtyard with no easy escape.
Now that I had a chance to catch my breath, I quickly pulled out my phone to call for backup. The phone looked remarkably undamaged. The screen was fine and was still face ID unlock compatible without any noticeable scratches. The tempered glass screen protector and the case’s raised bezel for extra screen protection worked perfectly.
The phone itself looked fine thanks to the rugged dual layer construction of the iPhone XR phone case. It is definitely a premium case with both a hybrid thermoplastic inner skin and an outer durable polycarbonate frame with kickstand.
My body on the other hand wasn’t quite as undamaged. It felt like I had a broken rib or two and both my hands and side were seriously scratched up. Once backup arrived, I was ordered to head back to the safe house to have medical treatment.
The nurse on staff thought it was a bit funny that my iPhone XR phone case survived better than me. Besides looking fine, all buttons and ports on the phone were still easily accessible. The phone still even supported wireless charging.
I’m definitely going to be grabbing another two or three IRON ARMOR 2 cases for my iPhone XR. With 3 colors to choose from - black, blue, and rose - I can even match the cases to my epic car crash bruises.
