Not everyone can get to be a super hero. But I got my chance. Or, rather earned my chance. It was a sunny morning and I set out to school as always on my cycle. My iPhone 8 in its Rugged Ghostek case sat in my back pocket. The stylish and waterproof slim case always won me compliments no matter where I went.
It’s shockproof feature is incredible as well.
As I cycled towards school, I saw a red car drive ahead of me and young little girl pop her head out and wave at me. I smiled and waved back at her, thinking someday I too would have kids. The car soon sped away and I cycled slowly on the path I take to school every day.
A few blocks later, I found the car parked at the corner of the road and the child alone in the front seat. I stopped and asked her what she was doing alone and she replied that she was waiting for her mom to return from buying some groceries and snacks from a small convenience store. I decided to hang around until the kid’s mom came back. After all, the first class was history and I simply hated it.
I know history is vital to know but the teacher was terrible.
We chatted up about which cartoon she liked and what hobbies she had when the car suddenly began to roll. Apparently the mother hadn’t put the car in park but left it in neutral and the car began to roll down the road. I began to panic and the young girl began to cry.
In my frenzy, not knowing what to do, I jumped off the bike and ran behind the car. I ran ahead of it and managed to put all my weight to stall it a bit. I knew I could not do this for long and I did not want to get ran over! I instructed the child on how to press on the brake.
The girl was a smart little thing and was able to press on the brake just in time. I collapsed as all my body hurt due to the force I had tried to exert to keep the car from rolling. I had heard my phone creak in my pocket and I knew I would need a new phone. I knew that even the best case that claimed to be provide advanced shockproof and premium protection could not save the phone from the torture it was subjected to. Who cares how much shell shock this case could withstand?
But, I was glad the child was safe and unscathed.
The mother returned and thanked me profusely but another witness did call the police since the mother does have some answering to do. After that I looked at my phone to see the extent of the damage. To my amazement, the phone was intact, without a scratch to the screen. Even the case hadn’t suffered extensive damage thanks to its armor body. And, I felt no less than a super hero.
And the strength of this case is setting new standards in the cell phone case market.
