The ultimate goal of any secret agent on any undercover mission is to avoid detection. If you are detected and your cover blown, the second goal is to avoid capture.
I use to be able to say I had a 100% success rate on avoiding capture. Unfortunately, my last mission didn’t go quite as planned.
It all started when my cover was blown. I was working undercover as a card dealer in a very exclusive part of the famous Casino de Monte-Carlo. I was watching a target who loved to gamble here when he was visiting Europe. The target was a known leader of a major drug cartel but we didn’t quite have enough evidence yet to arrest him.
My job that night was to just get close enough to him for my phone to connect to his phone’s bluetooth. Using a program built by our tech team, the target’s phone would hopefully be hacked and copied without him ever noticing.
When packing for the mission, I decided to put my iPhone in the Rugged IRON ARMOR 2 Case. I needed something that would protect my phone but also look like something a normal casino dealer might carry.
I felt the IRON ARMOR2 was the best choice. It has a rugged dual layer construction that offers great protection. At the same time, the case comes with 3 colors to choose from and has a classy slim design. It is powerful without looking suspiciously like military grade equipment.
I used the included holster with swivel belt clip to attach my phone to my belt. This way I could get my phone closer to the target without it being suspicious.
Everything seemed to be going to plan at first. The target arrived and headed right for my table. I dealt him some cards and the gambling began. Unfortunately, I must not have been as good of a casino dealer as I thought. Something in my movements caught the bodyguard’s attention and I saw him bend to whisper in the target’s ear.
I thought I might have had my cover blown but I also knew I needed to stay near the target if the phone hack was to work. Taking the risk I even decided to follow the target when he got up to use the bathroom.
Next thing I know, I’m being grabbed by the bodyguard, dragged out the back service entrance of the casino, and thrown in a van.
The target knew my phone must have been part of the mission and demanded I unlock it. With the IRON ARMOR2 Case my phone was still facial recognition and ultrasonic fingerprint unlock compatible. Thankfully, when I unlocked it, the phone was also designed to send out an emergency message with my location.
Realizing his mistake, the target quickly tried to destroy the phone. He threw it across the room and straight at a concrete wall. With the hybrid thermoplastic inner skin and durable polycarbonate frame though, the IRON ARMOR2 case is designed to withstand serious drops from 2 meters and is very shockproof. It has even been military grade standard drop tested.
Within minutes, a team of agents arrived and surrounded our location. The target, realizing he was outgunned, surrendered without incident. It’s fair to say I won’t be heading out on any new missions from now on without my lucky IRON ARMOR 2 Case.
