The most boring part of any secret agent’s job is probably the stakeouts. You can easily spent days if not weeks sitting in some small, musty apartment or squeezed into a surveillance van. A stakeout is usually 80% waiting around and 20% actually doing surveillance on a target.
In these situations, I’m super happy to have the modern convenience of a smartphone. It’s the best way to kill time. On all my stakeouts, I make sure to pack my Moto G7 Power phone and the ultra-thin COVERT3 case I use to protect it.
I really like the COVERT3 premium crystal clear case. First, it comes with 3 colors to choose from so you can get exactly what you want. The case has all buttons and ports easily accessible so it’s convenient too.
One time I was on a mission and monitoring the house of a known arms dealer. He was pretty much always out of the country so we spent a lot of time sitting in the undercover tech van and just waiting. I was especially bored that day and was just scrolling through my phone.
Out of nowhere, someone starts pounding on the van door. Even with the case’s non-slip diamond grip, with the shock, I still managed to dropped my phone hard on the steel floor of the van.
Thankfully, the COVERT3 case is rated to withstand drops from 2 meters. It has reinforced shock absorbing corners so the phone was fine. The raised bezel for extra screen protection and scratch resistant clear back provided even more premium shockproof protection.
Whoever was knocking on the van door was doing so aggressively. If we were spotted and had our cover blown, headquarters would not be happy. Plus, this was a serious arms dealer we were investigating. I didn’t want to meet any of his bodyguards up close and personal.
I had a tech team member with me in the van and quickly gave him a sign to turn on the door camera. This way we could see who it was before opening up. It wasn’t a big bodyguard though - it was a grumpy looking old lady.
I picked up my phone before cracking the van door.
“Can I help you ma’am?”
“Yes! You are blocking my view of the park. I like watching the ducks from my porch and you have been parked here for 3 days already! You need to move.”
Well, that was a first. I told her I was sorry and would see what I could do. I quickly closed the van door and pulled out my phone. The COVERT3 case is conveniently fingerprint unlock compatible and I unlocked my phone to give headquarters a call.
The boss was amused but agreed to let us change locations and park on the other side of the street, a bit further down. To think our stakeout was almost blown because of some old lady and her ducks!
